Preparation is the stage that decides the result. A surface that is not properly stripped and polished will show every flaw underneath the gold, which is why most of the work happens before any plating begins.
Finishes
Three Metals,
One Standard.
24K gold is the classic and the most requested — warm, unmistakable, and the reason most people come. Rose gold is softer and reads more modern, particularly on watches and personal accessories. Platinum is the quiet option: silver-white, understated, and the choice when gold would be too much for the object or the room.
All three are applied to the same standard, and all three can be combined on one piece — a gold body with platinum detailing, for instance — where the construction allows it.

Plating Hides
Nothing.
Gold is a mirror, and a mirror magnifies. A scratch, a pit or a poorly finished weld does not disappear under plating — it becomes the first thing anyone sees, lit up in a colour that draws the eye to it.
That is why an honest quote sometimes includes restoration before plating, and why we will occasionally advise against plating an object altogether. It is a better conversation to have before the work than after it.

What Can and Cannot Be Plated.
Electroplating needs a conductive surface, which decides most of this. Rather than take an order and disappoint you, here is the honest position.

If your object mixes materials — most do — the platable parts are separated, finished and reassembled with the rest. That is normal, and it is why the evaluation stage exists.

Why Preparation Decides the Result
The visible difference between good and poor plating is almost never the gold — it is what happened before it. Surfaces are disassembled, stripped and polished until they are genuinely flat, because plating magnifies every mark left underneath. A rushed preparation stage produces a shiny object with all its old flaws made brighter, and no amount of gold corrects it afterwards.
Working With Mixed Materials
Most real objects are not one material. A watch has a movement, a phone has electronics, a tap has seals, a trophy has a wooden base. Those components are removed and protected, the metal is plated, and the piece is rebuilt and function-tested before it is returned. It is the reason a job takes as long as it does and the reason it comes back working.
Visiting the Dubai Showroom
Leronza is a Dubai business with a showroom at Aswar Building, near Business Bay Metro Station, open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–19:00. You can bring a piece in for an in-person evaluation and an instant quote, see finished work in the cabinet, and compare 24K gold, rose gold and platinum side by side before choosing. Sending From Outside the UAE
Clients in more than 40 countries ship pieces to Dubai for plating. The sequence is always the same: photographs first, a written quote and finish agreed, then you send the item; it returns by DHL, insured, at no delivery cost to you. Nothing ships until the price is confirmed.

Gold Plating, Answered.
What can you gold plate?
Almost anything metal — steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, zinc alloys, and existing silver or gold pieces. Aluminium works once anodising is stripped. Plastic, leather, wood and fabric cannot be electroplated directly, so on mixed objects those parts are removed and refitted afterwards.
How much does gold plating cost?
It is quoted per piece, because price follows surface area, condition and how much disassembly is needed — a lighter and a set of bathroom fittings are not comparable jobs. Evaluation is free: send photographs and you get a firm price before anything is sent or started.
Can you plate my phone or laptop?
Yes — devices are the category Leronza is best known for. The electronics are removed and protected, the housing is plated, and the device is rebuilt and function-tested. Electronic items carry a limited warranty rather than the standard two years, and those terms are confirmed in writing before work begins.
Will you plate a watch?
Yes. The movement is never plated — it is removed and protected while the case, bracelet and bezel are finished, then refitted. Tell us at evaluation if the watch has sentimental or collector value so it can be handled accordingly.
How long does it take?
It depends on the object, its condition and how much preparation and disassembly is required. You are given a timeline with the quote rather than after you commit — and if a deadline is not achievable we say so at that point.
How thick is the plating, and will it wear?
Pieces are plated to a genuine, hard-wearing thickness rather than a flash coating — which is why non-electronic items carry a 2-year warranty. As with any plated finish, the places that wear are the contact points: a hand on a grip, a sole on a floor, a heel tip on pavement.
Do I have to be in Dubai?
No. Clients in more than 40 countries ship pieces in. Photographs first, quote and finish agreed, then you send it — and it returns by DHL, insured, with delivery included. If you are in Dubai, bring it to the Business Bay showroom instead and get an instant quote.
Can you re-plate something already gold plated?
Yes, and worn or tired pieces are common work. The old finish is stripped, the surface re-polished and the piece re-plated — often the point at which an heirloom looks better than it has in decades.
Is there a warranty?
Two years on the plated finish for all non-electronic items, and a limited warranty on electronics, set out in writing for your specific device. Every finished piece ships with a Certificate of Authenticity and serial verification.
Can you do rose gold or platinum instead?
Yes — all three finishes are offered on the same terms, and two-tone combinations are possible where the object’s construction allows the parts to be finished separately.
Do you take corporate and bulk work?
Yes — plating a company’s own product or award, or producing matched branded pieces in volume. Both are quoted per project with consistent finishing across every unit and delivery staged to your date.
